MY OCEAN

The Pacific Ocean is my home. I live on the Atlantic but I’m happiest here on the Pacific. My mum took me to the beach in Newport because we had no money to do anything else back in the day.

I think my gregarious nature came from those mornings with Mum. Being poor but rich. She would buy me a pack of Fruit Stripe gum and I’d walk around the beach handing it out.

Anyway. I’m here on the beach with mes locos amigos and as we laugh I think of her. With gratitude. For introducing me to this beautiful ocean which, thanks to her, continues to rescue me.
