I’ve meant to write more from here but I’ve been distracted by the beauty. And the birds. I love birds and Costa Rica delivers big time on that front.

Upon arrival in Costa Rica, the thing that strikes you is how green it is. And It is, in a word, absolutely stunning (two words. Sorry). We were in a cab this morning to Las Catalinas where we are staying in the most beautiful hotel you can imagine and all I did was gawk all the way. I have simply never seen more green.

I can’t help but think of the state of the world as I sit In this paradise — a peaceful one which hasn’t even had a military since the 1940’s. Pura vida…pure life rules the day and I’m not sure I’ve ever been more comfortable anywhere. Such a stunning contrast to the ugliness of our world today.

The other thing is how genuinely nice people are here. And not just the Ticos and Ticas. On my flight in (first class) I was seated next to an American woman. She and her husband grew tired of the nonsense in our country and are in the process of moving here. To paradise. I get it.

Perhaps we can all learn something from Costa Rica. About life, love and happiness. God knows we can use it right now.
